You will then be called in for a personal interview. You will be notified by telephone after all applications are in and interviews are over of a job offer. CIT applicants must follow the same procedure. All reference's will be called and a background check will be done on all applicants. Employment is seasonal and terminates at the end of the camp season. Applicants must be enthusiastic, creative, industrious, responsible, punctual, and resourceful and have a genuine love for children.

Staff salaries are paid twice during the summer, once at the end of the July and once at the end of August.

INS forms will be filled out: When called for an interview please bring in Passport or school ID ( Or drivers license) and your social security card (or birth certificate).

All applicants are required to undergo a physical examination before coming to work. All staff must be in good physical health and condition. The camp will provide a medical form to be completed by the applicant's physician and submitted to the camp office prior to June 15.

All staff is required to attend the two orientation meetings before camp starts. Orientation will be held on Saturday June 7th and Sunday June 8th from 10AM until 5:30 PM. All staff must attend. During the summer, staff are required to stay for group meetings after camp once a week.

Staff Hours

3. ✦7:45 Am to 6:15 PM One day a week or until all children leave.
   

Those under the age of 18 will need working papers, which they will have to arrange to get from their public school, or in the case of a private school student, by the Board of Education office at 475 State Street (3rd Avenue).

Counselors and Specialists must be a minimum of 18 years of age, attending college and have completed one year of college.

Assistant counselors must be at least 17 years old and have completed grade 10.

Counselors in Training (CITs) must be at least 15 years old and have completed at least one year of high school.

Job Description

1. To Work with groups of children in a manner that promotes safe behavior, safety while traveling on bus, while walking from place to place, at activities and trips, and improves the quality of the children's interaction with one another.
   

2. All staff are to participate in all activities with their groups, making camp fun for their campers, teaching skills, providing encouragement and support while serving as a role model.
   

We expect all staff to demonstrate a high standard in personal conduct at all times. Parents may drop off campers anytime after 8:00 am and pick up after 3:30 PM.

Head Counselors

1. Head Counselors must supervise and guide junior staff assigned to group. They are held responsible for behavior and action of the campers and staff within their group. They are to make sure campers are safe, supervised and entertained at all times. The head counselor is responsible for keeping accurate attendance of campers daily. Head Counselors must Attend and pass CPR and First Aid course to be paid for and set up by the Park Explorers.
   

Counselors

1. Counselors are responsible for behavior and action of the campers in their group. They are to make sure campers are safe, supervised, and entertained at all time.
   

CIT's

1. CIT are to assist Counselors in keeping campers safe, supervised, and entertained at all times.
   

1. All staff must be attentive and follow all procedures and routines as per instructed. This includes set up and clean up of all activities and equipment.
   

2. Attendance and punctuality throughout the camp season are mandatory.
   

3. Park Explorers hold the right to let go of any employee at anytime if the camp deems necessary.
