By turning off the TV, cell phone, and computer children learn to use their creative power to engage with real people, in real activities, with real emotions. Free from the overly-structured, overly-scheduled routines of school life, camp allows children a much needed time to play, learn, and expand their abilities. They gain confidence as they learn to succeed with non-competitive activities and new and diverse opportunities.
Exploring Nature in a hands-on natural environment enriches a child’s perception of the world, and supports healthy child development.
A healthy child is a physically active one. We encourage all children to run, swim, hike, jump, skip, and move as much as possible.
Camp means joining a close-knit community. So many of our staff were Park Explorers themselves!
