Job Description:
To Work with groups of children in a manner that promotes safe behavior, safety while traveling on bus, while walking from place to place, at activities and trips, and improves the quality of the children’s interaction with one another.
All staff are to participate in all activities with their groups, making camp fun for their campers, teaching skills, providing encouragement and support while serving as a role model. We expect all staff to demonstrate a high standard in personal conduct at all times.
All staff must be attentive and follow all procedures and routines as per instructed. This includes set up and clean up of all activities and equipment.
All staff must be available afterwork for meetings or additional training sessions.
Head Counselors
Head Counselors must supervise and guide junior staff in their assigned group. They are held responsible for behavior and action of the campers and staff within their group. They are to make sure campers are safe, supervised and entertained at all times. The head counselor is responsible for keeping accurate attendance of campers daily. Head counselors are responsible to know the whereabouts and activities of all Jr. staff members within their group.
Counselors
Counselors are responsible for helping the head counselor entertain and control the behavior and action of all campers in their group. They are to make sure campers are safe, supervised, entertained and all activities run smoothly, on time with a positive attitude.
(CIT’s) Counselors in training
CIT are to assist Counselors and learn from the counselors by helping them setup and clean up activities. Keep games running smoothly and give overall support to the staff and campers within their group.
Returning Staff:
No jobs, or CIT positions are guaranteed. Your applications are reviewed each year up until the 15th of April. After the 15th new staff will be considered for the unfilled positions.
You are considered a returning staff member if you are a full counselor and have worked the previous summer for six or more weeks. If you skipped a session or two, you must fill out the full job application. If you worked the summer before, you may fill out the shorten returning staff application. Please be sure to tell us any new skills, certificates, or degrees you feel would help our program.
Job Application:
Counselor-in-Training (CIT) applicants must follow the same procedure as counselors. Don’t worry if you’ve had no experience. Put down what you feel would help us evaluate you as a responsible person. This could include babysitting, house or pet sitting, sport teams you are on, theater productions, clubs you were in etc.

If we are interested we will call you in for a personal interview. If we feel you are the right “fit” we will notify you via the telephone with a job offer.
All references will be called and a background check will be done on all applicants.
All staff are required to attend the following training sessions :
Saturday June 15th, 9:30 am -5:30,pm
Thursday June 20th, 6:00- 9:30 pm
Monday June 24 6:00-8:00 pm
Saturday July 6 9:30 am -5:30,pm
Employment is seasonal and terminates at the end of the summer. Applicants must be enthusiastic, creative, industrious, responsible, punctual, and resourceful, and must have a genuine love for children.
Counselor-in-Training (CIT) applicants must follow the same procedure.
